Brother Steven J. Pritchett was born July 30, 1980, the second of three boys born to Drs. Stanley and Sharon Pritchett. Stanley is the Acting President of Morris Brown College, a past Grand Board Member and Past Province Polemarch of the Southeastern Province. Sharon taught in the City of Atlanta School System for twenty-six years; currently Sharon is a Prevention/Intervention Specialist in Dekalb County Schools. Steven’s older brother, Stanley Jr. is a nine-year veteran of the National Football League, and a Fall ’93 initiate of the Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. Steven’s younger brother, Sharard, is a 2005 graduate of South Carolina State University-where he was a three-year starter for the SCSU football squad and a Fall 2003 initiate of the Alpha Lambda Chapter. Stanley Jr. and Sharard are both currently high school football coaches in metropolitan Atlanta. Steven is a product of the City of Atlanta public school system. While attending Frederick Douglass High School, he excelled academically as a scholar while also showcasing his athletic prowess. In the classroom, he was a member of the acclaimed Magnet Program and graduated with “High Honors.” He was also named a National Merit Commended Student and National Achievement Scholar. Steven participated in sports (football and basketball), but his star shined brightest in the arena of track and field. Steve was a two-time 7-AAAA region champion and posted the fastest 800 meter time within the state of Georgia in 1997. Steve received a full academic scholarship to Florida State University. While enrolled at Florida State, Steven competed on the track team, held leadership positions in numerous organizations, including: the Student Senate, Sigma Chi Iota Honor Society, College Democrats, and Gold Key. He was also a Summer 1999 initiate of the Theta Eta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. Brother Pritchett served his chapter as Social Chair, Keeper of Records, and Polemarch. He also served the Southern Province as Junior Vice-Polemarch. At the 75th Grand Chapter Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, Steve was elected to the highest undergraduate office within Kappa Alpha Psi, Junior Grand Vice Polemarch, for a two-year term. And at the 76th Konclave in Charlotte, Kappa Alpha Psi awarded him the prestigious Guy Levis Grant Award. Upon graduation from Florida State, Steve went on to attend the Duke University School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and Vice-President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. While at Duke Law, Steve also was certified as a Contract Advisor by the NFLPA. After graduating magna cum laude from Duke in 2005, Brother Pritchett accepted an associate position within the litigation department of the Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP law firm. Brother Pritchett is married to the former Conni Cole; Steve and Conni have one son, Steven Jr. |
