Martin Luther Andrews was born on June 9, 1932 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and was a 1951 graduate of Douglass High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduation he enlisted into the United States Army and served his country proudly.
Martin attended and graduated from Oklahoma City University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Programming. Brother Martin married Gwendolyn L. Robinson in 1971 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was employed and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as a Computer Information Systems programmer.
He was a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and a Life Member of Oklahoma City Alumni Chapter. He was a member of the Shad Club #9 of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. He was a member of Toastmasters and belonged to the Masonic Fraternity.
Brother Martin Luther Andrews was a faithful and dedicated member of the Followers of Christ Baptist Church where he served as Trustee. He worked with the Brotherhood on special fundraising projects for his church and given the title of “Father of the Church” three years prior to his death.
His wife, Gwendolyn, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Elaine Andrews and Michael Andrews of Tucson, Arizona, Carolyn Andrews Mitchell, Gary Andrews and Reginald Bly of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and the Brothers of the OKC Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
