of Chicago, IL transitioned to Chapter Invisible on Friday January 29, 2016. Raymond was born April 30, 1932, in Columbia, MS to Janie Johnson-Givens.
Johnson attended Southern University, in Baton Rouge, LA where he received a Bachelor of Science; He was initiated at Southern University, the Alpha Sigma of Kappa Alpha Psi where he has been a member for over 50 years. He received his MS in Education from Roosevelt University, Chicago. He also, served two years in the United States Army. He worked as teacher and principal for the Chicago Board of Education for over 38 years and retired as a regional superintendent of Chicago Public Schools Southeast Region.
At his death he was a member of Chicago Heights (IL) Alumni Chapter, where he served as Polemarch and was actively involved with its Guide Right program. Brother Johnson was a strong supporter of the United Negro College fund, and was a member of the Hyde Park Jazz society.
He leaves a cherished legacy his Son, Craig Wadsworth Johnson, his granddaughter Kaia-Joy Arielle Johnson and her mother and many friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Chicago, IL, with the Interment at Holy Sepuchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL
