The Grand Polemarch's Holiday Message
As we celebrate this festive season, let us remember all of our brothers and sisters who celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan and other annual observances. While most members of our fraternity observe Christmas, the birthday of Jesus Christ, we rejoice with those who have other religious beliefs and practices.
This season Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is rapidly approaching 105 years of existence, and we are grateful that God has guided us safely through more than a century of service to mankind, especially those who the scriptures refer to as “the least of these”. Because of His amazing grace Kappa chapters throughout the nation and beyond have taken time to reach out to schools, nursing homes, and other institutions, sharing gifts and good tidings to many who would not have very much had we not invested in their well-being.
As college-trained men we have had the opportunity to set an upward-bound course that enables us to mentor, train, and help others who are in need. We continue to urge all brothers to reach out to include the needy, infirmed, incarcerated and the shut-in during this Christmas season. There’s a great joy that comes when we give, both to the giver and the receiver.
May you and your families have a celebration of remembrance, thanksgiving and hope, and may God continue to bless us as we proactively bring hope to a troubled world.
