To all of the gladiators who competed for the 2016 college national championship, we salute you for your excellence and achievements. Whether you were rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide or the Clemson Tigers the players did the best they could to make you proud.
To members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, whether members of Kappa Lambda or Eta Chi, we must always remember that we are “ONE KAPPA” and we ALL drink from the same canteen in Kappa Alpha Psi.
Today we rest from the anxieties of yesterday, and move about our quest for achievement in every field of human endeavor.
By William Ernest Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
