|Grand Polemarch's Message Season of Giving|
My Dear Brothers,
During this season of giving, we remember that we have been given the greatest gift of all, the gift of life. While celebrating the gift of life with family and friends, we also pause to commemorate the gift of fraternity. Our fraternity
was founded by ten college-trained men who wanted to make a difference in their lives and in the lives of future generations. We should follow the footsteps of these giants and ensure a solid foundation for our future.
As you close out 2016, I am asking you to consider helping to secure Kappa’s future by contributing to any of our programs that benefit our members, and community. These programs include, but are not limited to: Senior Kappa Endowment, Piney Woods, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, IKare Disaster Relief, Kappa Kamp, National Museum of African American History & Culture, Guide Right, Lead Kappa, Undergraduate Leadership Institute, NAACP, and the United Negro College Fund.
Your contribution can be made through the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, which was established in 1981 as a non-profit, tax exempt, publicly supported organization as described in Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Its purpose is to assist the community service efforts of the more than 600 active undergraduate and alumni chapters
In making a donation to any of our programs through the Foundation, one check can be written indicating which program funds are to be allocated. Please remember, in contributing to programs through the Foundation, which is designated as a 501(c)(3), your contribution will be tax deductible. You will receive a contribution document with the tax identification number from the Foundation, indicating you’re giving to a charitable organization, which can be used when filing your taxes.
As always, your commitment to Kappa Alpha Psi is appreciated as we seek to leave no brother behind. I look forward to your giving and seeing you all at our National Founders’ Day program in Atlanta, GA.
Yours In The Bond,
Thomas L. Battles Jr.
