The Kappa Alpha Psi®
Voter Registration Project

Kappa Alpha Psi as well as the entire NPHC has partnered with the NAACP this election cycle for our National VoterRegistration Project. Undergraduate and Alumni Chapters shouldcoordinate with College and local NAACP branches to host voter registration drives and voter education events.

This year Kappa plans to:

  • Register 7,000 voters this election cycle as an organization
  • Have chapters participate in National Voter Registration Day, September 27, 2016
  • Have chapters identify voting requirements in their area (registration deadlines, early voting dates, photo id, etc.)

Senior Kappas/Kappa Widows
We want to encourage each chapter to ensure that our Senior Kappas and Kappa widows are able to participate in this election. Please coordinate with your Senior Kappas committee chairman in your chapter and provide rides to the polls on Election Day or to early voting for our senior members.

Debate Watch Parties
Brothers should partner with local organizations to host debate watches during this presidential election season.
This will be a great opportunity to discuss local ballot initiatives or referendums and other races on your states ballot. Host a watch of the Social Media Town Hall Presidential Debate Sunday, October 9 and post/tweet/comment using the hashta#kappasarevoting

Candidate Forums
Invite local or statewide candidates to speak and participate in forums or discussions with your chapter. The
opportunity for elected officials to hear our issues and understand our programs is key to positive relationship
building in our community. More importantly it allows us to hold our leaders accountable.
